European Christian Mission
European Christian Mission celebrates 100 years of mission to Europe in 2004. The mission dates its origins from the call of God to a young man in a prayer meeting in Estonia in 1904 to reach out to Europe. The work has undergone many changes since then, but the vision remains essentially the same today.
Our purpose is to glorify God by the planting and developing of churches which evangelise and disciple the peoples of Europe. Our vision is to plant second generation churches in all our fields by 2010.
We are an international and interdenominational missionary organisation dedicated to reaching the peoples of Europe with the gospel through evangelism, disicpleship training, church planting and church development. Team members are also involved in support ministries such as radio broadcasting, drug rehabilitation and teaching English. In total, we have nearly 200 missionaries from 20 nations, currently working in 18 countries of Europe.
Our strategy is to place workers in local teams, with the aim of establishing a local church with national leadership. These teams will ideally have people with a combination of gifts and skills, so that there is no one type of person we are wanting. There will need to be those with evangelistic gifts, teaching and preaching, as well as pastoring and training. But there is also room in teams for children’s and youth workers, those capable of organising and running short term teams, administrators and care workers. With a blend of talents, a more balanced team will emerge that will be better equipped to serve the locality and see a mature church grow.
We are looking for men and women with Bible college training and pastoral experience for church-related ministries to further our goal of seeing churches planted that will themselves plant daughter churches.
