Emmanuel Healthcare aims to promote the worldwide development of sustainable, improving, holistic healthcare in the spirit and name of Jesus Christ and transmit the love of God globally, by word and by action, by: raising awareness and encouraging support of these aims, identifying and supporting indigenous leaders of developing healthcare systems, enabling processes to be adapted and applied through carefully chosen partners, encouraging best possible practice with partner organisations, sharing our vision and encouraging development of partnerships.
Emmanuel Healthcare can offer contacts for: elective placements for medical, dental, nursing or para-medical students in India, Malawi or Nazareth. Grants may be available to Christian students studying at university in Scotland or N. Ireland. volunteer opportunities medical and dental personnel in India or Malawi. volunteer opportunities for non-medical personnel in Nazareth (gardeners, carpenters, IT etc) We also need volunteers for office work and in the charity shop in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. Emmanuel Healthcare organises sponsored bike rides and treks in Nepal, Malawi and Middle East.
Projects. Emmanuel Healthcare supports indigenous projects, as partnerships, in: India with Emmanuel Hospital Association (Broadwell Hospital, Fatehpur; Madhipura Christian Hospital; Prem Jyoti Community Hospital; Delhi AIDS and a nursing training programme) and Dr Alfred (primary healthcare in rural area and AIDS project in Thane); Malawi, with Church of Central Africa Presbyterian at Mulanje Mission Hospital, Ekwendeni Hospital and College of Nursing, Embangweni Mission Hospital and David Gordon Memorial Hospital, Livingstonia. Nepal, with International Nepal Fellowship (Leprosy clinic, Surkhet and primary healthcare clinic in Awalching). Nazareth, with EMMS Nazareth in support of the Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing.
Emmanuel Healthcare can offer speakers about the projects its supports. Emmanuel Healthcare also collects stamps for re-sale.
