HCJB - UK
HCJB’s ministry began in Ecuador, South America in 1931 using radio to support missions work among the Quechua indians. During the Cold War HCJB was able to use its powerful short-wave transmitters to beam gospel broadcasts to the Soviet Union supporting ‘radio churches’. More recently, HCJB has extended its work to support Christian local radio stations internationally by helping them to spread the gospel in many countries. HCJB also has two hospitals in Ecuador as well as operating an eye clinic, community clinics and a medical caravan. It is hoping to extend this work to Sub-Saharan Africa. HCJB is involved in a number of water projects in Ecuador.
To communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations so that people may be transformed and become an active part of the Body of Christ. HCJB seeks to do this through Radio Broadcasting, Medical Work and Community Development programmes.
There are opportunities as medical electives for medical and nursing students with a working knowledge of Spanish. There are various short term radio opportunities for programme makers both in UK and abroad. HCJB is starting a Technical Associates Programme where people with Broadcasting Engineering and IT skills can be part of an ongoing support network on a part time basis.
A wide range of specialisms exist comprising all medical and dental disciplines. Also required are Broadcasting skills and Water engineering skills.
Please contact me to arrange a deputation meeting or for further details. We have a prayer meeting on the first Friday of each month to support the ministry.
